Important!

Treating patients under 18 with shingles through a Pharmacy First scheme is unsuitable due to the complexity of diagnosis, potential underlying health issues, and the need for a tailored treatment approach. Younger patients may have different treatment needs and a higher risk of complications, requiring close medical supervision. Additionally, considerations around vaccination and the need for comprehensive care are beyond the scope of Pharmacy First services.

Seek Medical Advice: Please consult a GP or paediatric specialist for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.

Emergency Care: For severe symptoms, immediately visit an emergency department.

Shingles less likely

If you don't show the specific symptoms listed, such as the distinctive rash, localized pain, or abnormal skin sensations in a dermatomal distribution, it's less likely that you have shingles. Shingles has a unique pattern of symptoms, including a rash that appears on one side of the body and progresses from red spots to fluid-filled blisters. Without these key indicators, the cause of your symptoms might be something other than shingles. Please contact the pharmacy on 01204 456390 or alternatively, please contact your GP to arrange an appointment.
